Nelspruit National Botanical Garden

One of the finest and most interesting botanic gardens in South Africa, set in beautiful surroundings on the Crocodile River near Nelspruit. The gardens feature a large waterfall, 180m steel hanging bridge and a number of unique botanical collections from a Cycad garden to a tropical forest containing a comprehensive variety of fig trees.

The Kruger National Park

Nelspruit is the ideal base from which to visit this 20 000 000 hectare nature reserve. It offers more than 500 bird species, 300 different trees and more than 200 of the larger mammals. The Park, a world famous conservation area, can be visited daily from a base at Nelspruit, via the Malelane Gate or Numbi Gate. This is an excellent option for visitors who are unable to secure bookings in advance for accommodation inside the Park.

Bourkes Luck Potholes

At the meeting place of the Blyde and Treur Rivers in Mpumalanga is a geological formation known as the Bourkes Luck Potholes. The rubbing of water-borne pebbles over many centuries has scoured out a collection of rock shapes which are now protected. They are named after a miner, Tom Bourke, who struck it lucky at a mine he opened nearby.

Sudwala Caves

Situated in the Mankelekele Mountains, these caves offer a unique experience to the visitor. The sheer size and extent of this natural network of caves allows for tours of up to six hours in duration. The dinosaur park adjacent to the caves features life- size replicas of prehistoric animals.

Mbombela Stadium

Mbombela Stadium is a multi -purpose sport facility that was constructed as one of 5 new stadia for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament. The stadium has a seating capacity of 43 500.

Blyde Gorge

God´s Window Escarpment is a popular vantage point along the Blyde River Canyon, in South Africa . At God´s Window on the Escarpment, majestic cliffs plunge over 700 meters to the Lowveld and the game reserves which have made the area one of Africa´s prime wildlife destinations.

Mac-Mac

When gold was discovered along the Mac-Mac River in 1874, a gold rush followed. Many of the gold miners were Scottish, hence why the camp was named Mac-Mac. In an attempt to divert the river, the miners placed dynamite on the crest of the Mac-Mac Falls. The explosion split the 64-metre-high waterfall into two streams which plunge into the forested gorge below.
